Fashion & Beauty Products Using Animal Testing

In the recent years, the number of beauty cosmetic companies using animal testing has been rising. This has become a norm for well-known brands, in order to be in the competition with their rivals and competing in the market. Not only are the cosmetic products used on animals, but some are even made from them. This includes products such as lipsticks and lip stains which are mostly made using fish scales - know why it gives you those lip shimmers now, ladies?

In previous years, well-known cosmetic brands such as M.A.C, which is currently in one of the top listing in the make-up world, has changed their ways of testing their products.

Not only celebrity endorsements such as Rihanna has given them the limelight in their new RiRi Rihanna product, but getting themselves involved in using animals as a new form of testing has gotten them the spotlight as well.

This has in turn caused M.A.C to lose quite a handful lot of customers, affecting their profit. This was seen in the comments made from the prior M.A.C users themselves all over the M.A.C cosmetics Facebook page- Love M.A.C but Against Animal-Testing.

Another such products, complementing the cosmetics as we all know, would be skincare products. One of the few popular brands would be Garnier and L’Oreal.
Holding the second position in the top 50 and top 10 ranking in the world, L’Oreal is still able to maintain its reputation despite being one of the known brands to be using animal testings for their products.

Over the years, L’Oreal has come to realized that using animal testing will not exactly bring them anywhere. With constant reminders from their consumers through petitions that were created online, their goal was eventually changed to “End the testing of L’Oreal products on animals.”

As shocking as it is, high-end brands whom we would never expect to be cruelty-free actually are now, mostly due to how more competitive the beauty industry has become in the market.

To top it all off, fragrances are also something that we should consider before purchasing as it is now another form of beauty product which are involving themselves in this harmful scene. Most of which extracts fluids from deers to come up with musk scent for women. So ladies, be a mindful shopper.
Make the right choice!
