To go for Bucks or Beans: That is the question

With Christmas round the corner, I drank special Christmas Coffees offered by Starbucks and Coffee Bean to find out which Coffee would make your Christmas Merry. For this review, I chose to review all the coffees using the small size.

First up,Toffee Nut Frappuccino(Starbucks) VS Coffee Bean’s Toffee Nut Ice Blended.

Out of the Christmas drinks at both chains, Toffee Nut was my favourite as it had a buttery sugar flavour combined with a light nutty taste.

Cost: Toffee Nut Frappuccino (Tall Size which is Starbucks’s Small Size) is $6.20 while Toffee Nut Ice Blended is $6.80. In terms of cup size, Starbucks cup is significantly bigger than Coffee Bean’s.

Flavour: Both drinks had the buttery sugar flavour. However, the nutty taste was stronger in the Starbucks Toffee Nut.

The first point goes to Starbucks for its Toffee Nut Frappuccino which is good in both its value and flavour compared to Coffee Bean’s Toffee Nut Ice Blended.

Next, Starbucks Peppermint Frappuccino VS Coffee Bean’s Double Chocolate Peppermint Ice Blended.

Cost: Starbucks Peppermint Frappuccino and Coffee Bean’s Double Chocolate Peppermint Ice Blended are both $6.80.As mentioned, Starbucks small cup is bigger than Coffee Bean’s small cup.

Flavour: Both drinks taste of Peppermint however since Coffee Bean’s drink is Double Chocolate Peppermint Ice Blended, the Chocolaty taste in Coffee Bean’s drink overwhelms the Peppermint taste.

I give Coffee Bean this one because although both drinks are nice and Coffee Bean has a smaller cup size, I prefer the taste of chocolate and peppermint much more than the taste of peppermint and whipped cream, which is what the Starbucks Peppermint Frappuccino tastes of.

In conclusion, if you want a Christmas Drink that is better value for money, get Starbucks’s Toffee Nut Frappuccino. However if you are looking for a better tasting Christmas drink, go for Coffee Bean’s Double Chocolate Peppermint Ice Blended.

Starbucks’s Cranberry White Chocolate  Frappuccino: Cost: $6.80. Flavour: Whipped Cream with a hint of Cranberry. Opinion: STAY AWAY! The taste of the Cranberry is almost non-existent.

Coffee Bean’s Red Velvet Pure Ice Blended: Cost $6.30, Flavour: Strawberry and chocolate cupcake. Opinion: It is ok, but not a must try.
